Skjodt-Barrett is a world-class manufacturer of food solutions and custom ingredients for North America's most beloved and trusted brands. We take pride in working closely with our customers to understand their unique needs and create innovative, individualized solutions that deliver joy to their customers.

A family-founded company started over 40 years ago, we are backed by the investment company Axel Johnson Inc (AJI). With their investment and support, we are well-positioned to foster growth and explore new opportunities.

Our customers, blue-chip international brands and mid-sized producers alike, are why we exist. Our teams of innovators, communicators, and managers are the people who meet their needs, build trust, and exceed their expectations.

Who we need

Reporting to the Manager, FP&A, we are looking for a Commercial FP&A Analyst to join our team. You will support commercialization initiatives through financial modeling, pricing, costing, and profitability analysis, providing forward-looking insights to evaluate business opportunities and support strategic growth. You will partner with the business to provide in-depth analysis, identify risks and opportunities, and offer actionable insights to support decision-making, continuously improving financial models and driving process enhancements.

This is a hybrid role, working 2-3 days a week on-site in our Brampton head office.

What’s in it for you

A seat at the table. This is not a back-office finance role. You will work closely with leaders across Sales, Operations, Procurement, Commercialization, and Finance, helping evaluate opportunities, improve profitability, and influence strategic decisions that shape the future of the business.

Exposure to the full business. You will gain a deep understanding of how products move from concept to commercialization, how customer relationships drive growth, and how operational decisions impact financial performance. You will have the opportunity to see the direct impact of your work across the organization.

Professional growth. Joining Skjodt-Barrett means becoming part of a growing organization where initiative is valued and contributions are recognized. You will expand your commercial finance expertise, strengthen your business partnering capabilities, and build experience supporting strategic decisions in a complex manufacturing environment.

How you will make an impact:

  • Commercialization & Business Growth. You will support the financial evaluation of new business opportunities, customer quotations, and commercialization projects. By developing pricing models, cost builds, and profitability analyses, you will help the business make informed decisions that support sustainable growth.
  • Profitability & Margin Optimization. You will analyze customer, product, and channel profitability to identify risks, opportunities, and margin improvement initiatives. Your insights will support pricing renewals, gross margin optimization efforts, and strategic business decisions.
  • Financial Analysis & Decision Support. You will perform in-depth financial and operational analysis to identify key business drivers, emerging trends, and opportunities for improvement. Through scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, and business case development, you will provide meaningful insights that support decision-making across the organization.
  • Costing & Continuous Improvement. You will review and validate costing information to ensure financial assumptions are accurate and reliable. You will also support productivity, cost savings, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance business performance and profitability.
  • Business Partnership & Insights. Working closely with Sales, Operations, Procurement, Commercialization, and Finance teams, you will develop tools, models, and reporting solutions that improve visibility and help transform data into actionable business insights.

What you bring:

  • The experience. You bring experience in FP&A, commercial finance, costing, manufacturing finance, or financial analysis. Ideally, your experience has been gained within manufacturing, food production, ingredients, or consumer packaged goods environments. You have experience analyzing business performance, supporting profitability initiatives, and translating financial results into meaningful business insights.
  • The knowledge. You possess a strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and costing methodologies. You understand the drivers behind financial performance, and develop recommendations that support business growth and profitability. CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA is considered an asset..
  • The technical skills. You have advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting. You have experience using Power BI and other business intelligence tools to develop dashboards and reporting solutions. Experience working with ERP systems and large datasets is highly valued.
  • The interpersonal skills. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can present complex financial information in a clear and meaningful way. You build strong relationships across functions and influence decision-making through collaboration, curiosity, and credibility. You are comfortable presenting insights and recommendations to leadership teams and have a deep appreciation for diverse experiences and perspectives.
